In the matter of Joung blun ahas Leong & fu at present detained in Victoria Gaol Dangviong.
I. Ho Hi at present in Victoria in the Island of Hongkong do hereby solemnly and sincerely declare and say as follows:
I was examined as a witness in the case tried before Mr. Wodehouse one of the Magistrates of the Colony at the conclusion of which the above named Leong a Fu was remanded to Victoria Gaol pending the orders of His Excellency the Acting Governor.
I was also examined in the case tried before Mr. Mudie, another of the Magistrates of the Colony; in which Li Loi and Leong a You (alias Chan a Lee) were charged with subornation of perjury and perjury.
Since I was so examined I have been to Singapore and only returned to this Colony in the Steamship "Alban" which arrived here yesterday afternoon, Monday the 26th day of February.
I have not seen Leong a Fu since the charge of perjury was still pending before the said Magistrate going up to the Magistracy in company with a woman named Chow Fung and when I had got to the Arbuthnot Road I saw two gentry and a tipo from San Kwai native village sitting under a tree outside the Magistracy and waiting for me. I had not seen these people for over twelve months before the said 26th day of March.
